I am an Ecologist and work for the NERC Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH). A large part of my role involves monitoring long-term experiments and I am lucky enough to spend time on Salisbury Plain recording chalk grassland plants. I also carry out plant and pollinator surveys on agricultural margins, testing the effectiveness of different planting prescriptions and management options on plant/insect diversity. My role also involves supporting the national biological schemes and societies that the Biological Records Centre supports, which I find really enjoyable. I love communicating the work of this fantastic volunteer effort though public engagement.
